Nasir recently came to shelter after being kicked out of his family home. He came to shelter with only the clothing on his back. Due to his stature, there is a lack of donations that are able to fit him. Assisting him with clothing will allow him to attend interviews and obtain employment, leading to further stability.

Ronald received assistance paying off a DMV fine.

Ronald recently became homeless after having medical complications that led to him losing his employment. As a result, Ronald's bills have gone unpaid, including some DMV fines - that have resulted in him not being able to use his car. Assistance with paying off this DMV fine will support him in having transportation to necessary medical appointments and eventually employment.

Riley received assistance paying auto fees

Riley has been working towards an exit plan for her and her child to leave an unsafe situation. She has been proactive in seeking help and shelter despite facing setbacks. Riley has also been working towards finding employment but has had a hard time due to being unable to drive because of overdue car fees. This support would help Riley overcome this barrier and ultimately help her continue to work towards her exit plan.

Chloe is a single mother who arrived in Virginia from Georgia after fleeing an abusive relationship. She recently obtained housing through the rapid re-housing program at St. Joseph’s Villa, while receiving domestic violence support services from community partners. She is settling into her new residence, is applying for jobs and has registered her children for school. Chloe hopes to have a source of income soon, and until then would be grateful for assistance with clothing and shoes for her children.

Herman is able to put some money toward the bill, but is in need of financial support to aid him in paying off personal property taxes for his vehicle. Survivor Erin received assistance reinstating her license

Erin became homeless due to fleeing a domestic violence situation. She was homeless with her toddler for months, living out of her car, staying with friends, and paying for the occasional hotel stay. During this time, she could not afford her car insurance, and as a result, the DMV suspended her license for driving without insurance. Erin has finally been approved for housing, has moved into her new place, and is working to find stable employment. But her license is still suspended and that has been a barrier to a lot of employment opportunities. Having her license reinstated would help her land a job and finally gain stable housing and income again after all these months.

Hellen received support paying for her children's self defense classes

Hellen has been working to get her kids rehoused and back to some normalcy after having to leave their home. Experiencing abuse coupled with having to leave their home has been very difficult on her two teenagers. In order to gain back a sense of control and safety, Hellen has been taking her kids to self-defense Krav Maga classes. She needs your support to be able to continue funding these classes for her kids to form a sense of security and confidence.

Without income, Irene was unable to continue paying for her storage unit, and as a result lost important documents, clothes and furniture. She recently found a job, and while she is training she would greatly appreciate assistance with new clothing for her and her son – especially now that the seasons are changing.

Now, he's faced with a challenging situation. Bob's heart's desire is to see his daughters succeed in their cosmetology dreams, but he's struggling to make ends meet. He's looking for a helping hand to cover half of their cosmetology fees, which includes $150 for the state board kit and $70 in class dues (with a commendable $10 already saved). With a new job on the horizon, Bob is determined to shoulder the rest of the fees before Christmas and Winter Break, ensuring his daughters' dreams shine as bright as their spirits.
